3rd Annual DLSPH Student-Led Conference

2010 Conference Information

The 2010 Conference Planning Committee is pleased to announce the
3rd Annual Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH) Student-Led
Conference. Titled, The Art of Public Health, the event is planned
for Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Health Sciences Building, 155
College Street, University of Toronto, St. George Campus.  The conference intends to explore the use of arts-based approaches in public health; providing a setting to learn from one another, network, as well as advocate for, and critically engage with this exciting topic. We aim to emphasize the value of creative expression, diverse approaches and new ways to explore public health, whether that is through dance, theatre, fine arts, music, film, photography or any other medium.

The day will begin with Dr. Sarah Flicker from York University's Faculty of Environmental Studies who will present the Keynote Address.  The conference consists of ten dynamic workshops, a selection of
breakout sessions on emerging issues in the field, and finally a diverse project gallery highlighting over fifteen exhibits. We hope to engage our participants by providing an opportunity for dialogue and debate pertaining to arts in public health research, knowledge translation, program planning, evaluation and empowerment.

Registration is free. Prospective participants are reminded that registration is opening Wednesday, September 22, 2010 beginning at 9:00 AM. Please check our website www.artofpublichealthconference.com
